I have another track out there currently but I have to wait until judging to release it. We will get back to that one sometime next month. What is breakbeats you may ask? Here is a definition for Breaks.
Breakbeat (sometimes breaks or breakbeats) can refer to two distinct but related things. 1) It is both an electronic music genre and the 2)distinct percussive rhythm from which this genre takes its name, usually characterized by the use of a non-straightened (percussion instruments do not play directly on beat) 4/4 drum pattern (as opposed to the steady beat of house, techno and trance). These rhythms may be characterized by their intensive use of syncopation and polyrhythms. Both meanings are closely connected to hip hop and b-boying (breakdance).

An illuminated dance floor, LED dance floor or disco dance floor is a floor with panels (tiles) which light up with different colors. They are used for dance. They were popularized for disco by the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever which it had gotten inspiration from a floor the director of the movie had seen at “The Club”, a private supper club in Birmingham, Alabama.

Early illuminated floors date back to the 1950’s. They consisted of translucent colored glass panels lit from below by bulbs.

  • Like a good race track it should have just the right amount of give; it should not be too hard, which causes repetitive strain injuries, or too soft, which is tiring.
  • It should be even and flat with only small variation in characteristics across the surface.
  • It should be springy and return energy to lift the feet when moving, but not too springy like a trampoline.

A DJ mix or DJ set is a sequence of musical tracks typically mixed together to appear as one continuous track. DJ mixes are usually performed using a DJ mixer and multiple sounds sources, such asturntables, CD players, digital audio players or computer sound cards, sometimes with the addition of samplers and effects units, although it’s possible to create one using sound editing software.

When a DJ set is recorded onto some medium, it is referred to as a mix tape. When it is produced live, it is called a live set.
