What is breakbeats you may ask? Here is a definition for Breaks.
Breakbeat (sometimes breaks or breakbeats) can refer to two distinct but related things. 1) It is both an electronic music genre and the 2)distinct percussive rhythm from which this genre takes its name, usually characterized by the use of a non-straightened (percussion instruments do not play directly on beat) 4/4 drum pattern (as opposed to the steady beat of house, techno and trance). These rhythms may be characterized by their intensive use of syncopation and polyrhythms. Both meanings are closely connected to hip hop and b-boying (breakdance).
Early illuminated floors date back to the 1950’s. They consisted of translucent colored glass panels lit from below by bulbs.
A DJ mix or DJ set is a sequence of musical tracks typically mixed together to appear as one continuous track. DJ mixes are usually performed using a DJ mixer and multiple sounds sources, such asturntables, CD players, digital audio players or computer sound cards, sometimes with the addition of samplers and effects units, although it’s possible to create one using sound editing software.
When a DJ set is recorded onto some medium, it is referred to as a mix tape. When it is produced live, it is called a live set.
So here are some original tracks. These were lost to time and I recently gained access back to them as the hard-drive they were on crashed. 50% of sales for my ‘Dreamstate’ track go to the charity Beat Lab. New material in the works. Hope you enjoy.
